In recent years, scams have become more widespread where crooks use the names and designs of well-known companies to trick unsuspecting people for their money. These fake messages are sent under various brands, trying to deceive people and steal their payment information. The parcel locker network Unisend has also been targeted by these scammers. We warn our customers to stay alert and report any suspicious messages immediately.
The scammers present themselves on Facebook Marketplace, allegedly wanting to pay for the goods sold through the Unisend website. A fake confirmation will be sent that the payment has already been made and people will be asked to confirm the transaction via a special link. Unfortunately, with the purpose to steal money from people.
Investigations revealed several signs of fraud and risk. If the below signs appear stop all communication immediately.
There can always be more warning signs. Crooks are quick and are constantly changing their ways of deceiving customers, in order to catch people when they least suspect it. When making or receiving payments, we always advise people to be very attentive. If in doubt, contact either Unisend or the police beforehand and get confirmation to make sure that everything corresponds to the services we provide.
If someone has already shared their data through such a link, you should immediately contact your bank and report the losses to the police.
